Pro-Xylane was originally xylose extracted from beech trees but is now obtained by synthesis. It is one of the many derivatives of xylose. Bosogenin can increase the binding force between the epidermis and the epidermis-dermis junction (DEJ) by adding the expression of heparan sulfate proteoglycan (HS-PGS)-basement membrane proteoglycan (Perlecan), CD44, and syndecan (SYNDECANS), and further promote the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) and proteoglycans (PGS).

However, it has been approved by the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. In the U.S.A.,it is recognized under the FDA’s GRAS. While in China, it is recognized under the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Furthermore, in Japan,it has been approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and South Korea’s MFDS, among other countries.
