During the production process we use E. coli and Bacillus subtilis, which can tolerate moderate hydroquinone toxicity and efficiently transfer glucose residues.

Through fermentation, genetically engineered bacteria produce glycosyltransferase enzymes that naturally attach glucose to hydroquinone. This formation yields to beta arbutin.

Mechanism of Action

Beta arbutin inhibits tyrosinase that converts amino acids tyrosine to dopaquinone which polymerizes to form melanin that gives your skin color.

Once Beta arbutin penetrates the skin, β-glucosidases slowly hydrolyze it, releasing small amounts of hydroquinone gradually. This controlled release of hydroquinone enhances the skin lightening effect.

The inhibition of tyrosinase and controlled release of hydroquinone reduces melanin synthesis, leading to gradual lightening of dark spots, giving you an even tone.
