How we Produce WS-23

At Baisifu, we have adopted a modern chemical synthesis process that produceshigh-quality WS-23. We start by obtaining the main starting material, which is 2-isopropyl-2,3-dimethyl-butyronitrile (DIPPN). What follows is hydrolysis, where we make 2,3-trimethyl-2-isopropylbutyric acid.

Next, we convert the carboxylic acid into chloride, then react it with methylamine in a process called amidation, which then results in the cooling agent WS-23.

Recommended WS-23 Usage

We recommend the cooling agent WS-23 for any formulation where you want your products to have a “smooth” and long-lasting cooling effect. At the same time, it should not change the flavor or aroma of the original ingredients.

Usually, the formulation may vary between 0.75% and 1.5%. It depends on your product line. We recommend you conduct sensory and compatibility tests by starting with 0.01%.

Remember, the cooling agent WS-23 only forms a small proportion of your cosmetic formulation.
